The Aviation Career Academy consists of two programs:
Introduction to Aviation
(a ground school with private instrument as well as commercial) and
Aviation Maintenance Technology.
Hyperlink to either school for other assignments and information. Ninth and tenth grade students attend the introductory program to acquire the aeronautics
background knowledge necessary for the upper-level aviation maintenance courses. The introductory course also exposes students to other positions available in the industry.
![]() Instructors: John Slate Steve Wind Upper-level students (juniors and seniors) complete the general portion of the requirements necessary for the Federal Aviation Administration's Airframe and Powerplant license. The aviation academy also offers a dual-enrollment program with Florida Community College of Jacksonville. Students can complete the requirements for the license with the college. ![]() |
