Parent InformationCEW Fishweir Elementary along with Central Riverside Elementary and West Riverside Elementary benefit from the Riverside Avondale faith -based community outreach program- Children’s Enrichment Workshops (CEW). Since 1998 CEW has offered such after- school program as: volleyball, basketball, arts & crafts, music, and drama productions. Through funding from local and national grants, these after-school programs are offered free of charge. Parents who are interested in enrolling their child (ren) may call Mrs. Brantley, CEW Coordinator, at 381-3910.
Florida state statutes require that each school establish a School Advisory Council (SAC). Each advisory council shall be composed of the principal and an appropriately balanced number of teachers, education support employees, students, parents and other business and community citizens who are representative of the ethnic, racial, and economic community served by the school. The responsibility of the SAC is to provide parents, citizens, faculty, and staff an opportunity to participate in the development of educational priorities, assessment of a school’s needs, and identification of local resources. The
major functions of the SAC are: Anyone interested in serving on the Fishweir SAC should call the school office at 381-3910. All SAC meetings are open to the public. SAC meeting dates for the 2010-2011 school year are: 9/14, 10/12, 11/9, 1/11, 2/8,3/8, 4/12, and 5/10. All SAC meetings are at 2:30pm in the media center.
