Principal's MessageWelcome to the Fishweir Elementary School website. The faculty and staff hope you will find this tool as a great way to reach out to our parents, students, families, the Jacksonville community and possibly….the world! Take a few moments to explore our website. One of the goals I work towards as a principal is to find the best and brightest teachers in Duval County. As a family, we work hard to provide a high quality educational experience for all of our Fishweir students. With continuous family support and outstanding volunteers, our students leave Fishweir Elementary School prepared for the next step in their educational career. We hope when you enter the doors at Fishweir Elementary School that you find our school to be welcoming. As you walk the hallways, you will see creative student work that meets the highest state and national academic standards. In our classrooms, you’ll find teachers and support staff working to cultivate outstanding students. The Extended Day program provides our families the opportunity to have the children in an atmosphere where children can play, get academic help and participate in arts and crafts at a very reasonable rate for our students. Fishweir Elementary School is privileged to be a magnet school that offers a well-rounded enrichment program that integrates artistic and expressive communication into the daily curriculum. Our students have the opportunity to express themselves creatively in the areas of oral, written, visual and performing arts. Our magnet students are given priority consideration for placement into the middle school for performing arts. Fishweir is a school where “Creativity Begins and Grows"!
