Accelerated Learning Center

The Accelerated Learning Center (ALC) is a new alternative education program intended to serve at-risk students who have been unsuccessful in the traditional learning environment.

The ALC delivers the district’s performance standards and mastery-based high school curriculum required for graduation, but does so in a non-traditional manner:

  • with flexible hours
  • self-paced instruction
  • technology within an open-entry
  • open-exit personalized educational program

Students and their parents meet with Learning Center staff to plan the course of study. An agreement that specifies the expectations, course sequence, and timelines for completion is signed by the student and parent. The agreement ensures the understanding that the outcome is measured by the same standards and requirements as the traditional high school to include success on all district and state-mandated tests.

For additional information and inquiries contact the Accelerated Learning Center at (904) 573-1170 x 1190.
