Academic Progression Plan

• Become familiar with your resources at school (library, afterschool tutoring, mentor)

• Set goals

• Take school work seriously because 9^th grade counts toward Bright Futures Scholarships

• Apply for a Social Security number – if you don’t already have one

• Keep a file of progress reports and report cards

• Make an appointment to see your guidance counselor if you have questions or are not doing well

• Prepare for FCAT (attend test prep tutoring, utilize FCATEXPLORER.com)

Spring

• Continue to work toward goals

• Set new goals

• Start thinking seriously about your future

• Start looking at university/college admission requirements

• Check with your counselor about summer programs on college campuses

• When registering for sophomore courses be sure to select courses that meet your future academic goals
