Employee of the Year

2009-2010

Mr. Joseph Johnson

 Garden City Elementary is proud to announce that Mr. Joseph Johnson has been chosen as our Employee of the Year.  He has been employed by the Duval County Public School System for twenty years as a custodian and has spent those years at Garden City.  Mr. Johnson takes pride in his work which is evident by the cleanliness of the school. We are proud to have Mr. Joe Johnson at Garden City!

2008-2009

Ms. Gully Harris

Ms. Gully Harris has been employed by the Duval County Public School System since 1997 as a paraprofessional. Her duties include assisting kindergarten teachers with instruction, helping out in the cafeteria and working with students that need a little extra help.  She also serves in our before and after school program, assisting with homework, crafts and games.  Gully serves as the Duval Teachers United representative for noncertified personnel. 

2007-2008

Ms. Susan Chadwell

Mrs. Chadwell has been employed by the Duval County School System since 2003 as a book keeper/secretary.  She came to Garden City Elementary in July 2006. 

2006-2007

Ms. Evelyn Thornton

Ms. Evelyn Thornton has been employed by Aramark Food Services for seven years.  Aramark provides meals for the Duval County Public Schools.  She is the cafeteria manager for Garden City Elementary
