I love being the principal of Garden City Elementary School!  When I requested a transfer to Garden City Elementary, I didn't know much about the school.  In my letter to then Superintendent Snyder, I listed two reasons for my request to change schools.  First, for health reasons, I needed to be closer to my home.  Second, was my desire to return to a school in an urban setting.  I am pleased that Garden City Elementary School fulfilled these wishes and so much more!

Garden City Elementary School's staff is made up of dedicated, caring and committed educators, many of whom reside within or near the school's attendance area.  Many of our staff  members attended Garden City as a student!  Our student body consists of long time residents (some third generation families) and an emerging urban population.  Our students are great! They aspire to be successful and strive for excellence daily.  We repeatedly tell our students that they are smart, they are great and they are #1.  This is a belief that we all, children and adults, have embraced.

Our school is fortunate to receive community support and involvement in our efforts toward continual school improvement.  We are fortunate to receive monetary and in-kind donations provided by local churches, organizations and businesses, as well as, mentors, tutors and volunteers who provide on-going support and assistance.

At Garden City Elementary School we believe that what is focused on gets magnified.  We choose to focus on excellence.

Did I mention that I love being the principal of Garden City Elementary?  I do!
