October, 2009
Dear Parent and Guardians,
It is hard to believe that is it already October!
The year has begun very smoothly and we look forward
to having an awesome year.
Tutoring will begin this month.
If you chose for your child to receive tutoring
through a vendor, please make sure that your child’s teacher
is aware of which vendor you have chosen.
This will assist us in making sure your child is in
the right place for tutoring.
Regardless of whether your child will receive
tutoring from a vendor or Gregory Drive Elementary, all
tutoring will begin during the week of October 12th.
If you signed up for tutoring with Gregory Drive, you
will receive information about your child’s tutor during the
week of October 5th.
Progress reports were released on September 29th.
If you haven’t received your child’s progress report,
please contact your child’s teacher for a copy.
Lunch status from last year’s information expired on
October 5, 2009.
Please note that your child will only receive a cheese
sandwich and milk for lunch from the cafeteria if they don’t
bring money to purchase a lunch.
If you haven’t received notification of your status,
you may call 732-5145.
As always, you are welcome to visit your child’s
class at any time.
However, please remember that the teacher isn’t
available to conference with you during the time that you
are observing.
The best way to ensure that you are able to speak with your
child’s teacher about any concerns you have is to set up a
conference.
Thanks for all that you do to support us in providing
your child with a first class education!
With our children in mind,
Mrs. Williams-Scott
September, 2009
Dear Parent and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year!
Although we have only been in school for a couple of
weeks, so much has already occurred.
Thanks to all of you who attended Open House.
We had a great turn-out.
Our faculty and staff had a wonderful time meeting
you. Please
don’t hesitate to come and visit anytime!
On September 3rd, we hosted a meeting
discussing our Title I status.
Information was given at the meeting concerning free
tutoring. If you
weren’t able to attend the meeting but would like your child
to receive tutoring, please contact your child’s teacher for
more information.
Some of our classes are larger than expected.
As a result, we will be making changes in order to
decrease the number of students in some of our classes.
You will be notified by letter if your child’s class
will change.
Our PTA Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Fundraiser is in full
swing! Order
packets were sent home on August 31st.
For each grade level, the class with the most sales
will receive a pizza party.
In addition, the top three sellers on each grade
level will win a $50, $25, or $10 gift card to WalMart!
So don’t forget to sell, sell, sell!
I look forward to working with you this school year
as we work to make this one of the best years ever!
With our children in mind,
Andrea Wiliams-Scott
