Autistic Department

Welcome Back!

We have some exciting changes for this 2008-2009 school year. Aimee Krivonyak is joining us as our Speech Language Pathologist. She comes to us with over 15 years of experience working with children with autism. Needless to say, we are most pleased with our new addition. Though we miss Sarah Gay terribly, Mrs. K. has filled her shoes nicely.

We are also pleased to have Jennifer Blay join us as our ASD 3-5 teacher. She comes to us from the county level, with a background in technology. She also has experience at Mandarin Oaks Elementary. Though she is new to the autism spectrum disorder, she has proven herself to be a willing learner and the students have responded positively to her teaching style.

Mrs. Hill remains as the PK-K teacher, while Mrs. Binkley continues as the K-2 teacher. Ms. Sharp has officially changed her name since marrying at the end of last year and the students are learning to call her Mrs. Kretschmann. She continues to teach the 1-3 students. Ms. Bacon remains as the teacher of the ASD students that are in the inclusion setting.

Julie Hoffman, the wonderful OT from last year, as rejoined us along with her paraprofessional, Nina Cobb. We are pleased to have them both back with us.

All of our paraprofessionals, with the exception of Tiffany Miller, who landed a job at Mandarin Oaks Elementary, returned for this year. So we are pleased to have all experienced paraprofessionals.

Needless to say, I am very pleased with our 2008-2009 staff. I am also looking forward to more new and exciting experiences this school year.  Thank you all for your continued support!
