Greetings! Welcome to George Washington Carver Elementary #158 where we are “Empowering all students toward academic and social success.” Our priorities are clear: (1) create and maintain an intense academic focus to increase student achievement for all students (2) provide relevant and rigorous classroom instruction that will lay an instructional foundation so students will be successful and confident as they encounter the secondary school curriculum, (3) ensure comprehensive, targeted, and intensive safety nets for students experiencing difficulty learning the Sunshine State Standards (SSS), (4) strive to achieve two years of student growth within a school year, and (5) provide teachers with ongoing professional development which analyzes student performance data to refine classroom instructional practices to meet their students’ academic and social needs. Integrity, conviction, support, diplomacy and candidness are traits that I exemplify and live by, and serving others is what I have chosen to do with my life. My educational philosophy is that “all children learn in different ways. It is the responsibility of everyone that comes in contact with children to recognize the greatness they possess and extract that greatness, provide them with the tools needed to keep them out of poverty and to make sure that each child receives the skills necessary to make a positive contribution to society.” Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding school matters.
