Principal's Message 

Parents,

I hope each of you had an enjoyable holiday break. We are looking forward to continuing to work with your children and to prepare them for their future.  We continue to need your support by remembering these important school policies: students cannot be dropped off before 8:00am; students cannot be dismissed after 2:15 pm; all parents must obtain visitor’s badge while on campus; and parents must register as a volunteer on the DCPS website

We would like for all parents to attend our upcoming events. Highlands will host a PTA meeting and Math Night on January 19^th. Dinner will be served and prizes will be given to all who attend. In addition, our 3^rd grade students will be performing. We will also have our Mid Year Stakeholders meeting on January 26^th to discuss our progress this school year. The meeting will begin at 6:00pm at Highlands Elementary.

Please come to school to obtain your parent portal login. We will no longer be sending home paper progress reports. Parent will need to login to check their student’s grades.

I would like to invite all parents to come and volunteer in your child’s classroom. Also, make sure your child is reading each night. Reading at home will help improve your child’s fluency, comprehension and vocabulary. This is an important part of your child’s education.
