8th Grade students field test
 Student Tool for Technology Literacy

     Eighth Grade students in Mr. Gilbert's Computer Application II classes field tested the Student Tool for Technology Literacy(ST2L).     
     The ST2L is an assessment of students' technology skills. It covers six areas of technology literacy in which students should be proficient by the time they complete 8th grade.
     The state Department of Education will use the results and feedback from the field test to refine the instrument before releasing it statewide.
     Jefferson Davis Middle was the first school in Duval County to participate in the field test.

     Jefferson Davis Middle School needs nominations for parents interested in taking on leadership positions on the School Advisory Council.  This committee of parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, and students is formed by law with the mandate to make decisions and recommendations to help the school continuously improve. 
  The committee is accountable for the School Improvement Plan and oversees a large budget.
