Below are important dates for the Magnet recruiting season beginning in January. Please be aware that in order to attend Lake Forest, a signature is required on the Magnet application. Then, the application must be taken down to the Magnet office located at the School Board building. We look forward to giving you a tour and welcoming you into our Lake Forest Family. Lake Forest is where every student is a Treasured Star!

  • Tours given every Thursday at 1:45 in the months of January and February. Parents receive a signature after the tour is given. Applications should be turned in the Magnet Office.
  • January 4, 2010: Pre-Printed Magnet Applications Mailed out.
  • January 9, 2010: Magnet Mania and More at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds
  • January 11 and 12, 2010: LaVilla Feeder School Tours. Signature can be obtained at the end of this tour.
  • January 19-21: LaVilla auditions for Lake Forest 5th grade.
  • January 21 and February 2, 2010: Open house at 6:15. Signature can be obtained at the end of Open House.
  • January 27, 2010: Magnet District Wide Open House. Tours at 9, 11, and 1:00
  • February 26, 2010: Application Deadline at the Magnet Office.

What is a magnet school?

A magnet school offers one or more programs to provide an opportunity for students to explore and express a special interest, gift and or talent. 

 

What program does Lake Forest offer?

Our school is a magnet school with the focus of visual and performing arts.  

Lake Forest has program continuity to Lavilla School of the Arts.  

We offer the following areas of study:
