My biggest thrill each year is expanding students concept of the world.  They become world trekkers in front of my eyes.  These young explorers begin investigating important global issues and the geo-politics of our time. Most importantly, students begin asking the big questions like, "What does it have to do with me?  How does it affect my future and my quality of life? What can I do about it, and How can I act responsibly toward my community, country and the world?"  Important questions indeed.   It is my privilege to inspire, motivate, and educate my students through the process of becoming global citizens.

I can be reached at 346-5650 ext. 144.  Parent conferences will be scheduled with the seventh grade team (7B) of academic teachers and scheduled through Mrs. Cameron ext. 114.

Student help sessions T.B.A.  I can accommodate only two students on any given day or one group working on a common project.  Students may reserve their help session by placing their name and the date they wish to reserve on the study session reservation clip board at the front of the room.

Julia Landon's History Fair

National History Day's core program is a national contest for students in grades 6-12. Our social studies students will conduct research related to an annual theme and present their findings in one of five categories: exhibits, documentaries, performances, papers or websites. Students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while creating their entries. Information on Julia Landon's History Fair, due dates, forms, directions etc. can be found at our site.  The theme for 2009-2010 is Innovation in History: Impact and Change.

Here is an important link to and easy way to create an annotated bibliography.  www.easybib.com  I sure wish I had this when I was doing research projects.
