My biggest thrill each year is expanding students concept of the world.  They become responsible young men and women right in front of my eyes.  These young thinkers begin investigating important issues and the geo-politics of our time through learning about our country's history and the things that make it great.  Most importantly, students begin asking the big questions like, "What does all this have to do with me?  How does it affect my future and my quality of life? What do the events of hundreds of years ago have to do with today?  and How can I be the kind of citizen that enriches my community, country and the world?"  Important questions indeed.   It is my privilege to inspire, motivate, and educate my students through the process of becoming thinkers and global citizens.

I can be reached at 346-5650 ext. 144.  Parent conferences will be held with the eighth grade team of academic teachers and scheduled through Mrs. Cameron ext. 114.

Student help sessions upon request and appointment.   I can accommodate only two students on any given day or one group working on a common project.

As each session is completed, 20 points will be added to the grade book.  Have Fun!

Our social studies students will conduct research related to an annual theme and present their findings in one of five categories: exhibits, documentaries, performances, papers or websites. Students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while creating their entries. Information on Julia Landon's History Fair, due dates, forms, directions etc. can be found at our site.  The theme for 2009-2010 is Innovation in History: Impact and Change.
