Principal's Message
At the Julia Landon College Preparatory and Leadership Development School, students will be challenged academically through a rigorous program of study designed to help prepare tomorrow’s leaders to be competitive in the ever changing global community.
Students will be scheduled into gifted or advanced core classes. No standard level core classes are offered.
An emphasis in leadership development will be placed in each of the advanced or gifted core classes as well as in the grade specific leadership electives.
In addition to the core academics and leadership training program, students will participate in physical education and elective programs.
The Julia Landon College Prep campus has a long tradition of “teaching tomorrow’s leaders today.” Constructed following the collegiate style of architecture in 1927, our historic campus was well known in the San Marco community as Landon High School until the mid 1960’s. From then until now, our recently renovated structure has served the community as a junior high and middle school. It was the original home of what has now become the prestigious La Villa School of the Arts. The Duval County Schools Magnet Program is proud to continue the tradition through the opening of the Julia Landon College Preparatory and Leadership School.
