Henry Mack is a respectable man who had to protest to state his point during the Civil Rights Movement. He has participated in a few "demonstrations." He also was a graduate from Mathew Gilbert High School while participating in the demonstrations. He played a number of different instruments while in high school. After leaving he taught at Edward Waters College. Then he retired when he was 60 years of age. But let's go back. Growing up he lived by Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida and would walk to an area known as LaVilla to shop. Now, there is a LaVilla School of the Arts, a Ritz Theatre, and a LaVilla Museum. He also said that the only black University was the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). I thought that Henry was generous to give his time to us, and I thank him. |
