The student also signs a pledge to abstain from using illicit drugs. Once the results of the lab are returned to the school confirming the absence of drugs, the student is then issued a D-Fy-Ince photo ID and t-shirt. The parent or guardian must approve prior to the testing of any student. The D-Fy-Ince philosophy/goal uses positive community incentives, rewards, and peer pressure to influence young people NOT to use drugs. D-Fy-Ince members participate in various community outreach projects including neighborhood clean up and tutoring. They receive free fair admission to the Jacksonville Agricultural Fair, as well as other discounts from area vendors and merchants.
