Foreign Language

The Foreign Language Department offers the following classes:


German I, 1 credit
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the German language and its culture. The content includes beginning skills in listening and speaking with special attention to pronunciation.

German II, 1 credit
This course reinforces the fundamental skills previously acquired by the students. It develops increased listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills as well as cultural awareness.

Spanish I, 1 credit
This course introduces students to the target language and its culture. The content includes beginning skills in listening and speaking with special attention to pronunciation.

Spanish II, 1 credit
The purpose of this course is to reinforce the fundamental skills acquired by the students. This course develops increased listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills as well as cultural awareness.

Spanish III, 1 credit
While in this course, the student will master and expand the skills previously acquired. The content includes expansions of vocabulary and conversational skills through discussions based on selected readings.

AP Spanish Language, 1 high school credit
The purpose of this course is to develop oral and written fluency in the language. The content includes that determined by the Advanced Placement Program.

The French and the Spanish students have actively participated in the district competition every year. Many ribbons were awarded to deserving students.

The Spanish club participates in the food drive, and decorates the cafeteria of a nursing home during the holidays. In addition, as a booster for the soccer team, they prepare posters and spirit bags.
