Updates!

Thank you for a great start to the school year! We have completed the first nine weeks and are looking forward to a super second nine weeks. Please sign and return your child’s report card to his/her teacher no later than November 4.

This month we will be taking our first field trip of the school year to the Jacksonville Zoo. The field trip will be Monday, November 23, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please sign and return your child’s permission slip before November 16 and if you have not done so already, please send in $15 for the cost of this year’s field trips.

In the coming month your child will be learning about forces and changes in motion in science; math facts and money; ways of living in social studies; narrative stories in writing; and fluency, vocabulary, and fact vs. opinion in reading. Please listen to your child read nightly and record the books he or she has read on the RAH sheet. For extra practice in math, we would like to encourage you to use the website www.themathworksheet.com.

Thank you for your continued support,

Second Grade Teachers
