Florida PTA is the largest statewide volunteer organization working exclusively on behalf of children and youth. Founded in 1921, Florida PTA seeks to unite home, school and community for all children and attempts to influence policy makers on the health, education, welfare, and safety issues affecting our children and youth.
Here at Lone Star Elementary, we have a very active PTA, which encourages parent and community involvement. We have enjoyed 100% PTA parent, faculty and grandparent membership for over 13 consecutive years. Also, we have been the recipients of the local unit achievement award in addition to numerous other state and national PTA awards for a number of years. Our volunteers log in over 3,000 hours per year!
Our Lone Star Elementary PTA sponsors an impressive list of annual events. We offer various teacher appreciation activities throughout the year. We perform student services such as vision screening and healthy head checks. We offer parent workshops, school assemblies and family activity nights. We are also responsible for the book fair, playdays, fifth grade party, ecology projects, the yearbook, and incentive awards. Our historian book has won a Duval County award for over five years. We are so very proud of our achievements and are committed to working with Lone Star Elementary in providing the best possible learning experience for all our students.
