Ms. Mariah Gaskins

Dear Lone Star Elementary,

Another year is here! We are going to Rock –n- Roll with Soul as we Learn Academics!

During the 2012-2013 school year, we are committed to continue to support your child’s maximum potential in all of their achievements and goals. We also want to thank our teachers, students, staff, parents and community for working together and continuing to support our school.

We are committed to continue all of the wonderful things happening here at LSE~

·     continued implementation of scientifically based research strategies to teach all subjects with special emphasis on mathematics, science, and technology

·     continued implementation of balanced literacy instruction through reader’s and writer’s workshop

·     character development through involvement in school activity clubs and assembly programs

·     parent and community communication through conferences, parent-link, and the LSE website

Our mission: “Lone Star Elementary is a community of educators and parents working together to develop all students to their fullest potential by providing research based instructional strategies integrating math, science, and technology to promote a love of learning, community pride, and develop a safe, positive environment.”

Our vision:" The Lone Star Elementary vision is to inspire high academic achievement among all students, serve their needs, challenge their minds to prepare them for secondary education and enrich their lives for success and participation in a global society.”

One final note: No meaningful learning can occur unless students feel safe. Thus, we are always working proactively at LSE to improve our protocols for dealing with issues such as bullying or bus behavior. Our expectations have always been to promote positive behavior and to provide strategies for students to manage challenging situations. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at 904-565-2711 ex110 or through e-mail at gaskinsm2@duvalschools.org.

Happy Learning!
Ms. Mariah Gaskins
