A message from the Principal

Why do students, teachers, parents, and staff love to be a part of the Love Grove Elementary School experience?  Visit the campus for a day and find out for yourself!

Love Grove is located on a large, quiet, tree-lined campus that is surrounded by community churches, recreational parks, single-family homes and horses grazing in open fields.  It is a neighborhood school that serves approximately four hundred and seventy students in kindergarten through fifth grade (basic education and ESOL) and pre-kindergarten through fifth grade (exceptional student education.)  The ESE programs include autistic, physically impaired, specific learning disabled, and speech and language impaired.  Love Grove has the advantage of having a full time guidance counselor, media specialist, occupational therapist, and speech/language therapist.  All students receive resource services in the areas of art, music, and physical education.  They are also scheduled into the computer lab and the media center on a regular basis.

Love Grove parents, teachers and students have made academic excellence their number one priority, as evidenced by the annual performance on the FCAT in reading, math, and writing.  The school has maintained a grade of “A” for the past three years and anticipates continuing this tradition in 2006-2007.  Love Grove utilizes a standards-based curriculum and teachers develop activities that address specific needs of the individual student.  Science and math skills are embedded in the reading, social studies, and writing curricula to provide additional practice and relevance in these other critical fields of study.

The “A” that the students have earned also stands for “Attitude” –kids are expected to respect themselves, their teachers, and each other.  The entire staff is committed to providing all students with the opportunity to reach their full academic potential and develop the interpersonal skills needed to become successful, productive members of society. Love Grove recognizes children that demonstrate acts of strong character and focuses on creating a positive environment that is conducive to learning.  .

Once again, you are invited to visit Love Grove and see for yourself what a wonderful school this is!  You won’t be disappointed.
