4. Solving quadratic equations by factoring
5. Solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula

8. Solving systems using elimination and substitution (2 sheets) sheet 1 sheet 2
9. Operations with radicals: multiplying and dividing (2 sheets) sheet 1 sheet 2
10. Solving compound inequalities

Special Note: The page of links to mathematics websites will be very helpful in completing these assignments.

You work should be neat and legible. Show all work on the paper. If more space is needed you may use loose leaf paper. Most of the help links will take you to Purple Math. This is a great site and will provide you with examples and lessons to help you complete assignments. You can search Google for other help. Don’t buy anything; there is plenty of free help out there on the web.

The booklet containing all of your assignments should be ready to turn in the first day of class. Come to class prepared to start working! You will need loose leaf paper, graph paper (4x4 or 3x3), pencils, erasers and a binder (1 or 1 ½ inch) with dividers to keep your materials organized. A graphing calculator is a must for algebra II and pre-calculus. We use Texas Instruments calculators here at Mandarin High School. Demonstrations and instruction will be given using a TI graphing calculator. The TI-83 or the TI-84 model is suggested. Save the UPC for extra credit! Many stores will have them on sale in August.

The algebra II teachers look forward to seeing you next August!
