Comment: hey theres this girl that is in a couple of my classes that used some zantacs that this other girl gave her on monday morning. she used about 2 before 1st period started and about 2 during first period. she had a blank look on her face and had slurred speech. i dunno what to do-tell someone-dont tell someone...please help me.
Our Response: You definitely need to let an adult know, because the fact that your friend is taking medication that she probably doesn't need is very dangerous, and it could have serious consequences. If you don't want to tell a teacher or administrator in person, you should contact our SRO here. Your message will be completely anonymous. You may also want to leave an anonymous note for our ZIP (zeroing in on prevention) counselor, Mr. Bilbray, who knows exactly how to deal with matters such as these. He is on campus on Mondays and Tuesdays, and was spotlighted here. If you have any doubts about telling someone, don't. You are the one person that knows what is going on with her, and therefore the person that can help her. If something terrible does happen to her because of the medication, you don't want to feel guilty knowing that you were too afraid to speak up about it and get help for her. Please let somebody know.
