Review: Borderlands
by: Mickael Giroux

Developed by Gearbox Software, out on XBOX 360, PS3, and PC, Borderlands is a game packed with action and something for everybody. Borderlands has received many good ratings, a 8.8 out of 10 from IGN.com, and has even been compared to a great game that came out a few years back, Blizzard’s Diablo. Being a action RPG game, this game is loaded with blood and gore, which explains its Rating M for mature.
Gamers are thrown in a world of thievery and treasure hunting with rusty guns, deciding from 4 different classes with very different abilities and stats. Choose from a heavy hard to kill guy or just be your average stay back and shoot type. Gearbox has done a good job of incorporating plenty of quests to do and mixing in vehicular combat along with melee combat. So with all these different ways to smash and have fun, you never get bored.
Many people have argued that Gearbox should have included more abilities to the classes, but most people get past that and realize that the game is more about getting large guns, or guns that shoot fire!
I give this game a 9.5. This game has yet to fail me and I haven’t once thought to put down the controller while playing Borderlands. Yes, I do not like the fact that the classes only get one special ability but I quickly got over that when I got my lightning shotgun. Big thumbs up for Gearbox’s Borderlands!
