Terrorism in a Russian Subway
by Mantas Kesminas

On March 29, 2010 a terrorist act was accomplished in Russia. As officials say two Islamic women were sent to act as bombs in a subway. It looks like these women had never ridden a train before, because their execution place seemed illogical, because one of the bombs went off when the terrorist was going down an escalator and the other bomb exploded after people got on the train and there weren’t many people around. There were two explosions, 30 minutes apart from each other. 39 people were killed and an unknown number of people were hurt. Bombings happened in the morning, because that’s when most people ride the trains. Police are looking for three more accomplices that might be hiding in Moscow and planning more attacks. People were scared to ride the trains so they went out to streets to catch a ride from strangers, so they could get to work. Russia’s Prime Minister Putin said that whoever planned this will be found and destroyed.
