Subject: Need some information!
Comment:

Although girls flagfootball doesn't get a letter, and its not really considered a sport, I really think that it would be nice to at least put SOME information about it on the sports page. I played last year, and it takes a lot of hard work, but the girls that play don't get any thing for it. I think it is a shame that our school can't even put girls flagfootball under spring sports. We worked as hard as the other sports had to, so why can't Mandarin say anything about the flagfootball team. It really isn't fair, and it pisses me off! Do something about it! From concerned flagfootball player.

Editor's Response We can put virtually any information about activities on the school website, we just need someone to get the information to us.  If you could tell us who the faculty sponsor for flag football is, we will send one of our web students to get some info.

Subject: baseball tryouts
Comment:

Hi, can you tell me when baseball tryouts are? Varsity and JV?

Editor's Response We checked the main Sports page where the spring tryouts have been listed, and it says the baseball tryouts were held on January 16, last week.  The page lists an email address for the baseball coach if you wish to contact him.

Subject: Senior Prom
Comment:

Now I saw on the calendar that Senior Prom is on Feburary 18. I thought Prom was always in April. What's up with that? Is this prom for everyone or just juniors and seniors?

Editor's Response The calendar notice for Senior Prom was referring to public service project that the Student Council and NHS do for the senior citizens at The Coves Retirement Home.  It does not refer to the Junior/Senior Prom.  We changed the listing to "Senior Citizens Prom" to clear up future confusion.  In answer to your second question, tickets to the Junior/Senior Prom are only sold to current juniors and seniors.  They may, however, take a date who is not a junior or senior if they wish.

Dear Editor, I am junior at Mandarin and have a question. What happened to the section where we could find photos of spirits day?Last time I went "SEAN'S COFFEE HOUSE " and saw pics there . Now what happened to that? Can we have those photo site back. Ananymous

Editor's Response We are not sure if you are referring to the Senior Week photos or the Homecoming Week photos, but we no longer have Hien on the web team staff so we discontinued her section.  However, in response to your question, we have placed links to both the above mentioned articles on the newspaper main page under Recent Articles.  Thanks for your interest in the website.

Subject: Seniors 2006
Comment:

Well, we all know Seniors are graduating on May 25. I'm a senior myself and I haven't heard when Senior Skip Day was and when our last day was. So I wanted to know when Seniors' last day was.

Editor's Response We certainly can't give you any information on Senior Skip Day, but the school is currently discussing the date for the Senior's last day.  At present we have heard the last day for seniors is May 12, but this date has not been confirmed.  When we get a confirmation of that date we will update this posting.

Subject: Talent
Comment:

My friends and I have all been wondering the same question; "Why isn't there a talent show at mandarin?". I know that theres one for girls in the Ms Mandarin thing.. what about the guys? What do we have? Is there any way we could propose this plan to someone in administration... if so who? Thanks, Some talented kids at mandarin

Editor's Response There is a talent show of sorts for the guys at Mandarin High.  Although it wasn't held last year, the Mr. Unbelievable Contest is traditionally held every year.  The contest consists of guys dressing up as girls and displaying their dubious "talents".  You may want to contact Mrs. Jaxon, the activities director, to see if they are planning the contest for this year.  Good luck.
