The MHS PTSA will grant two or more scholarships to qualifying
seniors. This
selection process will be based on the following criteria: academic
achievement, teacher recommendation, extracurricular activities/
work experience,
leadership accomplishments, concern for the welfare of others, and financial
need. Students must complete an application and submit all supporting
documentation by May 15, 2009 to be eligible. Scholarships will be
awarded at the Senior Awards Ceremony.
Criteria
1.Student must have minimum GPA of 2.5.
2.Student must attach a copy of their acceptance letter from a
university, college, junior college, or vocational school showing they are
accepted as a full time student (if available).
3.Applicants should demonstrate academic, leadership and community
involvement.
4.Preference will be given to students who are not receiving another
scholarship, such as athletic or academic, including Florida Bright Futures.
5.Financial need will be given consideration.
6.This is a one-time scholarship.
7.A faculty recommendation is required with the application.
8.Complete the application and attach all supporting documentation.
Please place in a sealed envelope labeled “PTSA Scholarship Application” and
return to the main office or Guidance.
