Magnet Program

The F.A.M.E. Magnet Program at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School challenges each student to succeed academically by becoming a confident and accomplished learner. This is achieved through a school-wide program emphasizing three important areas:

  • Foreign Languages take our students to foreign lands and cultures. This program emphasizes academic performance and is complimented by our Spanish dancers, Modern dance, and Spanish Club.
     
  • Academics include a standards-based curriculum. The arts are into the academic environment to foster students' independence, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
  • Music Enrichment programs give students the opportunity to express themselves through musical instruments, music theory, rhythm, and rudiments of music. Music study helps students become motivated and self-assured while fostering creativity and self-expression.

F.A.M.E. is a nurturing and success-oriented program built on the belief that each child comes to school with many different talents. These talents are cultivated by enhancing self-esteem through academic achievement. We believe every child can be a star.
