Our safety patrol is open to students in 3rd -5th grade who exemplify dependability, good leadership skills, and high scholastic achievement. Their purpose is to help protect students from accidental injury by reminding them to follow our school safety rules. They have regular weekly meetings.

The MLK News Team also known as the Media Squad:
Media Squad students produce a quality morning news show . The show is aired daily on close circuit TV Channel 3 Eagle News. The team records all school events on and off campus. Recordings are made available to students, staff, and parents.
The Media Squad team members are assigned to record and edit all Magnet performances. They receive training from local news professionals as well as area middle and high schools. The Media Squad tours national and international news outlets yearly.
