Teachers.net is a site full of wonderful resources.  You could spend a day exploring the links that lead to links that lead to other resources.  There are articles such as “Using Photography To Inspire Writing II” and “Finding the Main Idea in Students’ Behavior.”  The long list of links on the right side include general links, grade level, Regional Teachers.net, English Center, Language Center, Professional Groups,  Teaching Methods, Hot Topics, Project Center, Tech Center, and Career Center.

The Florida Center for Instructional Technology

The Florida Center for Instructional Technology homepage provides links to all of its on-line sources.  Be sure and check out the FCIT on iTunes U!  You will find videos and audio books to help you at your academic level that can be downloaded to your iPod.

Exploring Florida

Exploring Florida is the first link from the FCIT site, or you may go there by clicking the URL address at the top of the slide.  This website provides resources involving movies, maps, music photos and much more about Florida.  Teachers may use up to 20 resources in any one project without further permission.

A Teacher’s Guide to the Holocaust is the second link from the FCIT page.  Here a teacher will find links to art, music, movies, documents, photographs and literature to aide in the instruction of the Holocaust.

Maps, etc. is another link available from the FCIT site or accessible with the URL listed on the slide.  Teachers can browse the galleries or search the database to find the map they might need.

FOCUS

FOCUS is a Florida Department of Education Web site where teachers and students may use their FCAT Explorer sign-in information to access mini assessments and teachers can track progress.

Fact Monster

Fact Monster is a reference tool full of interesting information.  Here you will find links to slideshows on invasive species and tallest buildings.  You can follow a link to a page all about Harry Potter with quizzes, crosswords, information about the author, etc.  There are a lot more sites to explore.

Microsoft Lesson Plans

Microsoft lesson plans for students and educators offers links to lessons guaranteed to enhance learning through the use of technology.  While a model is presented, the lesson is adaptable to the student population as needed.

eMints National Center

eMints National Center provides resources organized around themes.  Any teacher may search for and use these resources, while only members can make resource requests.  The Teacher can search by themes listed alphabetically, by grade level, or general search.

Hot Chalk’s Lesson Plan Page

Hot Chalk’s Lesson Plan Page has over 3,500 free lesson plans.  Teachers can search by subject, seasonal plans, or general search.  There is also a discussion forum you can join to talk with other teachers.

Thinkfinity

Thinkfinity is the revised Marco Polo website.  Interactive games, activities, online graphic organizers, and lesson plans are just a few of the many resources found at this website.  By entering “graphic organizer” in the keyword search, I was able to access 186 hits.  Then by entering a search term in the box labeled, “Search Within Results,” one is able to narrow the search to the particular organizer they require.

Sparklebox is a site from the United Kingdom that will appeal to the primary teachers.  There are 1000s of products that a teacher can download free.

Google for Educators

Check out the list on the right side of the Google for Educators webpage.  Besides links to tools and activities, there is a link to “Classroom Posters” that you can print from your computer.  The “Teacher Community” has a “Google for Educators Discussion Group.”

Teacherxpress has a comprehensive collection of links to websites on just about anything related to education.  This slide only captured a small portion of this website.  The lists go on and on.

The Education World

The Education World main page gives you the following choices:  “Lesson Planning,”  “Professional Development,”  “Administrator’s Desk,” “Technology Integration,” and “School Issues.  The “Techtorials,” tutorials on using technology, are particularly helpful.  You will find the link in the column on the left side of the page under “Technology Integration” after scrolling down.  This is a valuable site for teachers.

Scholastic is another great site for teachers.  The resources found here are reliable and extremely helpful for primary teachers, but has some resources for secondary teachers as well.  You can find “Lesson Plans,” “Strategies,” “Tools,” “Printables & Mini-Books,” “New Teacher,” and “Free Programs and Giveaways.”
