Summer Reading List

       PTA Corner

At our February 12th PTA meeting, DCPS representative, Cheryl Thompson, came and spoke to us about obtaining new playground equipment for our children.  It was very enlightening.  We must have a separate playground for the kindergarten students.  It must be fenced and accessible from the kindergarten classrooms.

During the FCAT testing, students will be provided with peppermints and orange juice to keep them alert.  Make sure your student get a good night’s rest and start their day with breakfast.

On March 26, 2008, there will be a representative at the school from Ident-A-Kid.  This would be a great time to have an identification card made for your student.  Packets will be sent home with your child explaining the program.

Due to the scheduling of FCAT and spring break, our spring carnival has been pushed back to Saturday, May 10th.  This will give our Carnival Committee more time to plan some nice activities.  PTA needs parent, teacher and community participation to make this a success.    The proceeds are going towards the purchase of new playground equipment.

PTA has agreed to obtain 9 buses for the transport of all the children participating in the Million Word Celebration held April 16th at Kids Campus for grades K-3 Continue to encourage your child to read everyday.

A heartfelt sympathy goes out to Mrs. Gayle Hodge, PTA treasurer, during the loss of her mother.

Respectfully,

Angie L. Cunningham, PTA President
