Welcome to Northwestern Middle School and the 2009-10 school year. As Principal, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our new and improved web site. We are proud of our students, teachers, educational programs, and facilities. We have a very supportive school community, an outstanding staff, and great students. Our teachers and staff, along with students and parents, have a common goal of providing what is best for our students.
Our aim is to achieve the highest student achievement within the atmosphere of a safe, healthy and inviting learning environment. We do this by addressing the intellectual, social, physical and emotional needs of our students in a rigorous, challenging academic program. By taking full advantage of the middle school years, all students will have the chance to grow academically, physically and emotionally. Our goal is to prepare our students for the educational, social and technological changes present in our society. At the same time, we strive to develop new insights and new perceptions for our students that will enable them to meet the challenges of today.
Middle school is a time of change. Regular attendance is an important component of school success. At Northwestern Middle School the students are a very important part of our school's tradition. The staff wants all students to continue this tradition of excellence by being totally involved, participating activities, and by following basic guiding principles of honesty, respect, responsibility and trustworthiness.
