Ortega Elementary – A Museum Magnet School

Mission Statement

Ortega Museum Magnet partners with area museums to provide hands-on, minds-on learning experiences for students to examine their world, explore their strengths and exhibit their knowledge.

Enrollment

We would love to have your child join the Ortega Elementary School family! Use the School Site Locator to find out the schools of attendance for your address. If your student is zoned for Ortega Elementary then the first step in enrolling your student is to get the proper required documentation. You will need:

  • Results of a physical (school-entry health exam) performed within one year of the date of enrollment
  • Immunization Record or an exemption
  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Copy of latest report card (If new to Duval County Public Schools in grades 1-5)
  • Proof of address. Acceptable documents include
    • a Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) bill,
    • a mortgage statement,
    • a lease agreement (from a company, not a private individual)

Once you have the proper documentation, you may print an Elementary School enrollment form or visit Ortega Museum Magnet Elementary School to get one. The form needs to be turned in at the school with the required documents.
