   About Jean Ribault Middle School

Ribault Middle has a long history of excellence and continues to be a pillar in the Northside Community of Jacksonville. Jean Ribault Middle School is located in Jacksonville, FL and we are proud to be one of  47 middle schools in Duval Public School System that serves over 600 students in grades 6-8. Ribault Middle School is the only gender-based school in North Florida.  Gender-based classes allow our students to excel in subjects generally dominated by the opposite sex.

We have a full array of extra-curricular activities such as Scholar Bowl, National Junior Honor Society, Debate Team, Basketball, Football, Baseball, Swimming, Volleyball, Soccer and Chorus.  Our students are given the opportunity to participate in these activities which help round out their education.

Our goal is to prepare students for success in high school and in order to do so; we expect our students to follow directions every day, do their best everyday and be on time every day.

RIBAULT MIDDLE SCHOOL MAGNET PROGRAM

Ribault Middle School is now a Magnet School.  This magnet program specializes in Early High School.  EHS at RMS will blend middle school and high school in a rigorous supportive program.

Students in the EHS Program will have an opportunity to enroll in high school level courses while in middle school, but will receive high school credit.   It will primarily focus on bridging the achievement gap, by promoting rigorous courses and preparing students for college entrance exams.  Please stop by the school for further information about this wonderful program.

More About The Magnet Program

The Duval County Magnet Programs is one of the nation’s most successful magnet programs, according to the U.S. Department of Education. A wide range of specialized educational programs are available throughout elementary, middle, and high schools.

While receiving instruction in traditional subject areas, magnet students have an opportunity to explore and develop their unique interests and talents in such areas as math, science, the arts, language immersion, culinary arts, aviation, law/legal professions, technology, and public service.

Duval County’s magnet programs are steadily improving to meet the needs of all students. Approximately 20,000 students participate in 30 different program areas offered in 71 schools.
