St. Augustine Alligator Farm - February, 2006

Four of the SHC members visited the St. Augustine Alligator Farm (SAAF) and were treated to a behind the scenes tour by the general curator, John Brueggan.  John has been at the SAAF for many years and not only looks after the current collection, but contributes to research and conservation efforts for crocodilians.  The SAAF stakes claim as being the only facility in the world to have every species of crocodilian!

The students saw everything, including the stuffed "Gomek", Maximo, and even dozens of young white (leucistic) alligators.

There were opportunities for hands on, as well as "FUN" times.
