Sandalwood senior Chelsea Kalin recently took top honors in the AT&T and Pioneers Community Service Essay Contest.  Kalin, a student in Linda Cugini's Advanced Placement Literature class, was awarded a laptop for use at college.  The essay contest attracted entries from high school students throughout the Jacksonville area.  Kalin's essay reflected her proven commitment to supporting the work of the Jacksonville Humane Society and the Best Buddies program.  Best Buddies provides assistance to Exceptional Student Education youth through ongoing peer mentoring and tutoring.  Kalin serves as an officer in the Best Buddies club at Sandalwood.
