WSAM Television Crew

Purpose

San Mateo Elementary's WSAM Television Crew is responsible for delivering the schoolwide, local, and important national news to San Mateo Elementary's student body each morning.  Members of the WSAM crew learn about the various occupations involved in television news production and the career opportunities available to them.  During the year, the WSAM crew visits a local television news studio to speak with actual reporters and their production crew to learn more about the field of news broadcasting.

Requirements

Students are recommended for the WSAM Television Crew by teachers based on an interest in television production, citizenship, academics, leadership, maturity, punctuality, sound judgment, good attendance record, courtesy, respect for others,  and reliability.  In order to maintain active status as a WSAM Television Crew member, students are required to

• maintain an "A-B" grade average in all subjects, 

• maintain an "A-B" in conduct,

• be on time every morning perform your duty in an efficient and responsible manner

• show respect at all times to adults, other students, and fellow television crew members

• be able to provide transportation to and from school each day
