Only five weeks left to go and we are busy as ever!!!

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is 5/7 through 5/11!  The PTA has sent home a letter asking students to participate in different acts of kindness throughout the week to show their appreciation towards their teachers.  In order for parents and students to get a few ideas, teachers have filled out a questionnaire that lists "a few of their favorite things" that will be located in the front office.  Please show support for our wonderful San Pablo teachers!

Kindergarten Swim America dates are 5/7 - 5/11!  Please check with your child's teacher for specific times and volunteer to help out with the class.

Family Movie Night will be on Friday, May 11th in the school cafeteria!  Doors open at 6:00pm, movie begins at 6:30pm.  Admission is free to the hit movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked"!  Popcorn, pizza, and smoothies will be available for purchase.

oinciding with Family Movie Night on Friday, May 11th, will be our "Carbo-load" Spaghetti Dinner to aid in your race day preparation!  Pre-order a spaghetti dinner from Nini's Restaurant by Wednesday, May 9th.  Pick up your food and 5K race packet in the cafeteria and enjoy family movie night while you dine.  Doors open at 6:00pm.

The 5th Annual 5K for Play Beach Run is on Saturday, May 12th at 8:30am!  The race will start in front of the lifeguard station on Jacksonville Beach.  We look forward to all of our San Pablo friends and families participating in this community event to support our Health and Fitness Magnet!    

 

3rd Grade Swim America Dates are 5/14 - 5/18!  Please check with your child's teacher for specific times and volunteer to help out with the class.

  

The Dancin' in the Streets Festival will be on Saturday, May 19th at the Beaches Town Center (corner of Neptune and Atlantic Beach).  San Pablo will be selling wristbands in The Kids Zone!  A sign up for this event will be sent out soon.

 

1st Grade Swim America Dates are 5/21 - 5/25!  Please check with your child's teacher for specific times and volunteer to help out with the class.

 

Starry Night Student Art Show will be on Tuesday, May 22nd at 6:00pm in the cafeteria.  Enjoy an evening of art and music!  Please come make a donation on your child's art work.  All donations will purchase books, art, and music supplies for our school.  Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Graders will sing and 3rd graders will play recorders!

 

The last Early Release of the school year is on Wednesday, May 23rd.  We will also be having an after school Tropical Smoothie Day!  Order forms will come home with students in the following weeks.

 

Popcorn Friday will be on May 25th!  Students, please bring 50 cents per bag to school that morning.

 

Our school will be showcasing its many talented 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at the Annual San Pablo Talent Show, which will be held on Friday, May 25th at 9:00am in the cafeteria!

 

Monday, May 28th is Memorial Day, No School!

Our last General PTA Meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 29th, at 5:30pm in the Media Center. We have several PTA Board Member and Committee Chair positions to fill for the 2012 - 2013 school year. Please let us know if you are interested or would like to nominate someone you think would be a great candidate for our upcoming elections. The following positions will be open... President, VP/Programs, VP/Ways & Means, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, County Council, Homeroom Coordinator. All positions can be shared. Please come to the next PTA meeting for more information!

 

Awards ceremonies for grades 2 - 5 will be held June 4th through June 6th!  More details to be announced soon.

 

 

Last day of school for the 2011- 2012 school year is Thursday, June 7th!

 

For the next several weeks, San Pablo will be holding two donation drives...

 

In honor and remembrance of Maddie Thomas, we will be collecting children's items for cancer patients at Wolfson Children's Hospital.  Items requested are coloring and activity books, stickers, crayons, small toys, card games, slipper socks, stuffed animals, small blankets, etc... The PTA will set up collection bins at school for these items.

Back to School with BEAM is just around the corner so please begin to gather gently used kids clothing, accessories, and shoes to be distributed to those in need in the Beaches area.  All children's clothing for students from Kindergarten through high school are requested.  New socks and underwear, still in the package, are also needed. Donations of school supplies are appreciated.  The PTA will set up collection bins at school for these items.

Congratulations 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders and Teachers for a job well done on the FCAT and thanks to those who helped out with our FCAT Celebration Game Day and Ice Cream Social!

 

 

A huge "Thank You" to all our volunteers that lent a hand for our Spring Book Fair and Play Days last week!  Play Day Class Winners are: Kindergarten - Dake/Rutowski; 1st Grade - Feldman; 2nd Grade- Relaford; 3rd Grade - Johnson; 4th Grade - Scott; 5th Grade - Wood.  A special thanks goes to Coach Gilbert for organizing our Play Days!  A fun time was had by all!

 

 

Congratulations to San Pablo’s Math Superstars Winners!  1^st Grade – Connor Scott; 2^nd Grade – Gage Steinmeyer; 3^rd Grade – Joshua Gillis; 4^th Grade – Leslie Lerch; 5^th Grade – Nicole Nunez.  These five students represented San Pablo at the Sunshine Math District Competition last week!  Awesome job!

Please remember to continue to collect Box Tops, Labels for Education (Campbells), Tyson labels, and Coke Reward caps/codes over the summer break!
