Meet our Administrators

Principal - Ms. Adams

We welcome you and your child to Saint Clair Evans Academy for the 2011-2012 school year.  For returning parents, YOU DID IT!!!  Your support and dedication to your child’s educational career has helped us raise our school grade to a solid ‘B+’!!!  That's right parents your support earned us a grade that was only 9 points from an "A".  We also made Annual Year Progress (AYP) which is a state accomplishment that is difficult to earn.  We are one of 20 schools in the district that earned AYP status.  My goal as the principal of Saint Clair Evans Academy, is to always make a positive difference in your child’s learning career and to raise our grade even higher!

The school’s faculty and staff invite you to work cooperatively with us to meet your child’s educational needs.  We encourage you to get involved with our PTA which supports the needs of our students and teachers.   We also encourage you to attend one or more of our monthly parent involvement activities.  Check out our online calendar for dates and times of our specially planned events.  calendar for calendar and join us as we begin to partnership together to make this the best academic school for our students.

Dress Code - Students are NOT required to wear the standard uniforms here at Saint Clair Evans Academy.  However, we ask that you and your child adhere to the dress code by having them wear the proper attire that is outlined in the Student Code of Conduct Handbook.

Times are:
Pre-Kindergarten                                 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.                                              Kindergarten                                        8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
First – Fifth Grades                              8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

It is important that students do not arrive to school before 8:00 a.m.; nor should they remain after 3:00 p.m. each day.  We do NOT have the personnel to supervise the students before or after these times.  All students should arrive by 8:30 a.m.

Dismissal of students at the end of the day is very disruptive to the instructional day.  We understand that emergencies may arise, but dismissal of students after 2:20 p.m. will not be permitted unless verification of a doctor’s appointment is provided.  Help us teach from bell to bell by scheduling appointments after the school day.  Also, help us put a smile on the hearts of our community by exceeding the goals set by the state!

Transportation -All bus riders will be dismissed from the “Can Do” Center through the external double doors facing 45th street.  All car riders will be picked up near the Media Center parking lot area.  Changes in transportation will only be made in writing.  We do not take changes of transportation over the phone.  Please make sure your child knows how to get home every day before they come to school.

Lunch the cost of lunch per day is $1.60; breakfast $1.00; reduced breakfast $0.30 and reduced lunch $0.40.  Breakfast is served from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in each of the classroom.  Breakfast will not be served on the first day.
If you are applying for free or reduced meals for your child, please provide your child with lunch or lunch money until your child’s application has been processed and approved.
All children must have an approved free/reduced breakfast or lunch.  If you need to inquire further, contact the cafeteria.
Please do not allow your child to bring money to school for anything other than lunch or planned activities.

Class Lists will be posted in the hall just as you enter into the building.  We will also have personnel available to assist you and your child in getting to their classroom throughout the building.

Please see that your child comes to school ready to receive an education each day.  For example, your child needs a good breakfast (junk food will not be allowed at breakfast) plenty of rest, school supplies and most of all the educational purpose for coming to school.  Please make sure that your child doesn’t bring toys to school.  We can’t be responsible for lost or stolen toys.

TEAM UP Update- This year we are going to have Team UP, which is an after school program.  This program will begin on September 12th from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. each day.  Parents are encouraged to enroll their child into this program.  In order to qualify for an application you will need to attend the Open House and actively participate in your child’s learning experience by attending parent conferences and school wide functions.  More information will be sent later.

Please complete all forms in your child’s home packet, take time to read the information in the envelope, sign and   return the necessary papers.  This completed information is important if we are to make adequate and effective provisions for your child.

We look forward to making this year even better!

Shana Adams

Greetings to the Saint Clair Evans Academy School Community---

On behalf of the entire staff, we WELCOME you to our Soaring Eagle family.  As a professional learning community, we strive to meet the needs of all students.  Our vision is to create a safe environment that fosters student achievement, appreciates and celebrates diversity, and inspires responsible citizens.

The school invites everyone to become an active partner in the education of their child.  We ask that each student get plenty of rest each evening, attend school regularly, and come prepared to do their very best each and every day.  In addition, all parents are welcomed as volunteers for the school.  The school hopes that you will share your time and talents for the good of the school.

Thank you for allowing us to educate your child.
