Welcome to Louis S. Sheffield, one of the best kept secrets of North Jacksonville! Over 40 years ago the little farming community east of Oceanway needed a school and we were born. Nestled in a field a short distance from a dairy farm, Sheffield developed a reputation of excellence that continues today.

Over the years, our neighborhood has changed dramatically and so has our mission. We were an Engineering and Math magnet school that “morphed” into an agricultural school. We still maintain our roots with our animal husbandry, greenhouse and aquaculture programs. Our students participate in a 4-H Club here on campus and we offer experiences working with the animals and gardens for all of our students.

Over the past 6 years we have established a track record for academic excellence by achieving and maintaining a school grade of “A”. Although the school grade is important, we take even more pride in the fact that so many of our students are Proud Panthers, meeting our standard for daily behavior and academic performance and qualify for the reading celebration at the end of the year by reading a million words.

Enjoy our website and feel free to visit our school (we’ll send you a map)!
