Description
A Coalition of 19 non-profit, non-partisan organizations in Jacksonville, including Duval County Council PTA, has joined together to promote increased participation in this year's school board elections and educate citizens about the choices before them.
The coalition shares a belief that it is critical that the broader community learn about school board candidates so that they can make informed decisions.All of the organizations are nonpartisan and have signed a pledge not to support or endorse any specific candidate.Coalition activities include forums, a questionnaire, a special website (www.schoolboard2014.org) and other outreach efforts.Candidate responses to the questionnaire issued by the coalition have been posted to www.schoolboard2014.org.Forums in District 2 and District 4 will take place in early August:* District 2 - 6:30--8:30 p.m., Thursday August 7at Fletcher High School* District 4 - 6:30--8:30 p.m.,Tuesday, August 12at Ribault High SchoolBecki Couch from District 6 is unopposed, so she is automatically re-elected.Click HERE to see complete information about the Coalition.
