FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
The promotional criteria for students in grades K-2 has recently changed. Important information in reference to how your child/children will be promoted/retained in grades K-2 is being shared in community meetings over the next couple of months. Please take advantage of this opportunity to go out and hear the changes that will affect your child’s academic progress.
WHAT:
Several community parent meetings will be held throughout the
city to communicate the update to the Student Progression Plan
for K-2 students and how the Florida Assessment for Instruction
in Reading (F.A.I.R.) assessment will impact instructional and
promotional decisions.
The primary purpose of the meetings is to help parents understand how they may support their child in becoming a better reader and to learn more about the F.A.I.R. assessment.
District employees will be in attendance to answer questions and facilitate a community conversation around F.A.I.R and share resources that will help students improve their reading skills.
For more information about F.A.I.R., please visit http://www.fcrr.org/FAIR/index.shtm.
