Title
I, Part A ARRA - $29.46 Million
Title I, Part A ARRA funds
allowed the district to serve twenty additional schools
(9 high and 11 middle) through Title I Schoolwide and
Targeted Assistance saving teaching and coaching
positions and adding professional development to assist
schools in meeting AYP targets. In addition, Title I,
Part A ARRA funds are allowing the district to serve
additional non-public school students living in the
attendance areas of added Title I schools, and have
supplemented the Title I Parent Involvement,
Prekindergarten, Teacher incentive and Highly Qualified
Teacher programs.

Title
I, Part A, 1003(a) School Improvement ARRA - $0.81
Million
Title I, Part A, 1003(a) ARRA
funds will supplement the Title I School Improvement
Initiative and provide for the initial part of the
district’s contract with the Lastinger Center for
Learning at the University of Florida and pay for a
portion of the reading, math and science coaches needed
to supplement the district’s Differentiated
Accountability Support Teams.

Title I, Part A,
1003(g) School Improvement ARRA - $8.4 Million
Competitive Title I, Part A,
1003(g) ARRA funds will also be used to improve student
achievement in Title I schools identified for
improvement, corrective action, or restructuring so as
to enable those schools to make adequate yearly progress
(AYP) and exit improvement status. Eleven of the
district’s lowest performing schools (2 elementary, 3
middle and 6 high) were identified by the State of
Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) to receive this
funding.

Title
I, Part D, Subpart 2, ARRA – Neglected and Delinquent -
$0.19 Million
Title I, Part A ARRA funds
are providing additional Transition Specialists to
assist students in their transition from the alternative
centers to their home school. The Transition Specialists
meet with school staff including guidance counselors and
monitor the students’ progress as they assimilate back
into a regular school environment.
