Cummer Museum of
Art and Gardens – 829 Riverside Avenue
The museum offers guided tours for students as well as hands-on
workshops in the “Art Connections” department. Students have the
opportunity to view artwork of historical significance, and perhaps
draw in the gardens. Prior to scheduled tours, teachers receive
pre-tour packets to prepare students for the tour and post-visit
materials as a follow-up to the visit. To arrange for a tour, call

Museum of Modern Art (JMOMA) – 333 North Laura Street
The newly remodeled Western Union Building now houses artwork from
the post-modern era as well as practicing artists. The museum provides
the “MORE THAN JUST A TOUR” to schools which includes visits to their
Art Explorium Loft. Pre and post materials are also provided to
participating schools and their teachers. To arrange a tour, call

• Transportation Costs Note
Due to federal funds provided through grants, the DCPS Art Department
is able to assist with bus transportation to select art museums.
Funding will not permit full payment by the District, but will
significantly decrease the amount to be paid by individual schools.
