What is the attendance policy?
Students who attend summer school for promotion/credit
recovery/bridge may not miss more than 4 days in the 6-
week (29-day) summer program.
How do I Register?
Forms are available for summer school
registration at your child’s school.
What is the cost for
summer programs?
FREE
Will transportation be
provided?
Transportation will be provided to elementary students
for all programs and to middle and high school students
attending an ESE extended school year program or ESOL
maintenance program if the residence is more than 2
miles from their summer school site. All other middle
and high school students will be provided JTA bus
passes. Questions about bus stops can be directed to the
Transportation Department at 858-6200.
What is the summer school
eligibility?
Only Duval County Public School students who attend
Turnaround schools may attend the Superintendent’s
Reading and Mathematics Academies. If your Child
attended one of the schools listed on the back of this
brochure, then he/she is eligible for one of the summer
Superintendent’s Academies.
What are the summer school
dates and hours?
Elementary
- June 20 – July 29 (29 days)
with no school on July 4
- 8:45am-3:15pm
Middle and High
- June 21 – July 30 (29 days)
with no school on July 4
- 7:15am – 1:45pm
Bethel Program
- June 17-July 28 (29 days) with
no school on July 4
- 8am-12pm
Algebra Academy
- June 27-July 29 (24 days) with
no school on July 4
- 7:15 a.m.-10:15a.m.
