Duval High Schools Prepare To Compete In Upcoming
Marching Festival
Ten
Duval County high school marching bands will participate in the annual
Music Performance Assessment on Saturday, November 6th, at
St. Augustine High School. This day-long event allows schools from
Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties to perform their marching shows for
each other as well as for a panel of trained judges. The judges,
experienced band directors from high schools and colleges in Florida and
across the southeast, use music performance rubrics to rate the bands’
performances on their musicality, marching precision, general effects,
auxiliary units (flag corps, majorettes), and overall performance (timing,
sound, continuity). The public is invited to attend and see these
hard-working students as they exhibit not only their musical and marching
abilities, but also their unity, teamwork, and school spirit.
Refreshments will be available at the concession stands.

schools are scheduled at the following times (10 minutes for each school
