Advanced Placement

College Board recommends the following prerequisites for Advanced Placement science courses:
Course Prerequisites
AP Biology Biology I (Standard or Honors) and Chemistry I (Standard or Honors)
AP Chemistry Chemistry I (Standard or Honors) and Algebra II
AP Physics B or C Physics I (Standard or Honors)
AP Environmental Science Biology I (Standard or Honors), Chemistry I (Standard or Honors), and Algebra I

A strong laboratory component for each AP science course is required by College Board, so that the course is comparable to a first year college course.

Colleges often require students to present their laboratory materials from AP science courses before granting college credit for laboratory, so students should be encouraged to retain their laboratory notebooks, reports, and other materials.
