Community Meetings on the Budget Crisis
Parents, Duval County Public Schools employees and all taxpayers are invited to
Community Meetings that will examine the school district’s anticipated $170
million budget shortfall for the 2009-10 school year and its potential impact on
schools.
Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals will explain:
- How public education is funded
- How funding has changed and dropped in recent
years
- The truth about lottery funding
- What DCPS has done, what DCPS is doing to cut
costs
- Shortfall projections for 2009-10
- What cuts the shortfall forces on DCPS
- What parents, employees and taxpayers can do to
help
All meetings begin at 6
p.m. (with the exception of Fletcher, see below). Dates and locations are:
